Please Share: many #TroyNY residents may have noticed leaf spots and early defoliation from trees in our region. These symptoms are caused by Tar Spot of Maple (rhytisma), a fungus which affects specific species of Maple trees. Tar Spot rarely causes lasting damage to the tree, but heavy infections may result in leaves dropping early. For more information or additional resources on the Tar Spot of Maple, please contact CCE Rensselaer County at (518) 272-4210 or visit www.cce.cornell.edu
