MEET THE LRP BEHIND LRP BOUDOIR. Hi! Most of you know me, but I figured it was the perfect day for re-introduction! My name is Lindsay Rae and I am the photographer and owner of LRP Boudoir. I am 31 years old and married to an amazing man (who created our badass website: boudoirnewyork.com) Together we are the proud parents of a nearly five year old little ginger baby who is just as fiery as the color of her hair! Originally from Florida, I have moved around often! At 19, I made the decision to take a risk and chase my dream of being on Broadway. I packed up 2 suitcases and moved to NYC, barely only 14 days after the lightbulb moment to get up and go! Risk might be an understatement… I moved in with a girl I barely knew to the not-so-safe part of Brooklyn, East Flatbush on the bad side of the park. She was too scared to stay and soon left me to brave our block alone. Next I got my impulsive young self a credit card and convinced my best friend to then upend her life and move in with me. Ten days later she arrived with her own two suitcases. The second week after her arrival there was a shooting on my block. I remember Liz and I outside amongst the chaos and police tape! I had moved with nothing but two suitcases, $1800 to my name, full of hope and big dreams. That little antidote alone should tell you a lot about me and how I deal with fear. I face it head on. Although, driving is an exception to that rule… before moving to NYC I had a terrible car accident in Liz's car. I was driving alone at night and hydroplaned into a tree, wrapping the car around it in the process. I haven't really driven since then. I consider that accident to be the catalyst of the forward movement in my life. My first jobs in the city were working as a singing waitress at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, being a host at Gotham Comedy, and assisting my own talent manager… ALL at the same time (that’s the NYC hustle!). Working for Roger, my talent manager, is what made me fall in love with being behind the camera. I did act a bit, did a bunch of industrials, a few off off off Broadway shows and was also in the Off-Broadway production of Tony and Tina's Wedding. As much as I loved acting, I loved being on the other side of the camera more. I found joy in seeing the final picture and playing a role in its creation. After working for Roger I found myself (while still working multiple jobs) as an associate producer working for a small production company, producing multiple high end photoshoots. One of my favorite assignments was an American Express Ad for Kim Burrell. I am, still to this day, proud to have had that experience. A world of opportunity was opened to me working while with this company. They introduced me to the people at RAINN, where I became the 2009 Chairperson of Fashion for RAINN. During this role I was able to produce powerful PSAs about sexual assault and gather celebrities together to be a voice for the cause. This "Speak Out" PSA premiered at the 2009 Academy Awards on the red carpet pre-pre-show (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05iYZbVicOU). It was a life changing moment for me...the moment I stood on the red carpet, with a microphone in hand...the moment I realized all of the dreams I had for myself had been accomplished. I didn't know what I wanted to do next, but I knew it needed to be for me. Three months later I met my husband. Before that I was the woman who never wanted to get married or have kids. Yet, here was a man who could match me wit for wit and thought for thought. He made me want to be a wife, and more importantly, he made me want to be a mom. 1.5 years later we were married at a courthouse in Long Island. I was still freelancing for that production company, while also working as a publisher for a small business in the city producing inserts for USA Today and the New York Daily News. I got to interview Patty Stanger of Millionaire Matchmaker which was amazing because I fucking LOVE her! On top of all of that I had started my own stationary company because I fell in love with the magic of those sort of details while planning our own big wedding. Yes we had two! We decided on a legal ceremony at the courthouse and a big fancy celebration one a year later. It was the most tragic event of my life that followed which influenced my decision to become a photographer. One of my childhood best friends, AJ, passed in an incredibly tragic way. AJ was the life of the party. He was a man who never ever let anyone dictate what he would do in life. He had defeated death before… I remember sitting by his bed after a car accident in FL when he was told he would never walk, let alone dance again. AJ not only walked again, he danced. He traveled the entire world dancing for Disney. I sat with myself after his funeral trying to figure a way to pay tribute to his energy. Soon after we lost AJ an old friend asked me to shoot a wedding with her. I didn't even own a camera at the time. I went out and got one, and I was instantly in love. Two weeks later I upgraded from a rebel to a professional camera and decided to drop the stationary to pursue photography. I was a second shooter for the wedding company for a while, always learning but felt a strong need to have more of an impact on the world that surrounded me. Wedding photography is important to the memory, but it didn't have the type of impact I craved. I knew what I had to do…go full time boudoir! After only a few sessions I realized this was where I needed to be and what I needed to be doing. Boudoir isn't just a genre of photography. Boudoir isn't just about wearing lingerie in pictures. Boudoir is a state of mind. It is acceptance of yourself, your body, and your sexuality. Boudoir is about self-love. Boudoir is about pushing past the preconceived notions of yourself to explore YOU in a vulnerable and powerful way. This is what drives my passion. I believe that we can change the world one person at a time. Like a pebble in a lake, we create the ripples on your journey to self-love. I had an old teacher named Mr. Bowie who used to say "When you look good you feel good, and when you feel good you do good." It is my mission to make you feel the best you have ever felt about yourself. This is so you can spread that joy around you and be a pebble of good in a ripple of change. I love this community so much for supporting me. If you havent already joined our ladies VIP Group you can do so at facebook.com/groups/LRPBoudoirGroup XOXO, LRP

“Self care is not a waste of time. Self care makes your use of time more sustainable.” ~ Jackie Viramontez This incredibly gorgeous woman was in our studio on Friday! I have heard from many women who know her, who saw our live video from her session in our VIP group, that this is the kind of woman who constantly changes lives around her, just by existing. I am glad that she finally took some time to change her own life. <3 The gorgeous bodysuit on the couch is a one of our pieces Randi Poillon picked for this #LRPBoudieBeauty and it is coming out for spring/summer!
