The Capitol Theatre in Port Hope offers professional theatre, concerts, films and HD Events. Located in beautiful historic Port Hope, Ontario - the Capitol Theatre is an architectural gem. Open year-round offering professional theatre, concerts, films and High Definition Events including the Metropolitan Opera & British National Theatre.

An architectural gem, the Capitol Theatre was built in 1930 as one of the first theatres built for 'talking pictures'. When it opened it was touted as 'the most beautiful theatre in Canada'. Today, it is totally restored to its original beauty, and seats 380 in a comfortable, climate controlled facility. The Capitol offers live performances of professional theatre, concerts and comedy acts as well as high definition transmissions of the Metropolitan Opera, British National Theatre productions and Front Row concert events. Our film series features some of the most popular movies from the Toronto Film Circuit.
