A large group of demonstrators stand along the side of a dirt street, beneath a banner which says: "[...] NATIONAL UNEMPLOYED WORKERS / ASSN / PORT ALBERNI / UNITED FRONT [...]". Formed in 1930, the National Unemployed Workers Association staged demonstrations across the country, though they were particularly active in British Columbia.
