This ladder was built by some of our children in the older age groups. The ladder was designed to help the children get into the taller tree. Throughout the morning the group made plans, gathered the resources and then with some teacher help created a ladder that would assist them into the tree. What a great morning spent problem solving, working together and achieving!

Following last weeks interest in Small World play the Small World has taken a step back into prehistoric times. The children and educators have created a Dinosaur Playground using the Dinosaurs, plants, clay, water, stones and sand. We have been busy discussing the Dinosaurs habits and role playing what we imagine they were like.

Our children and educators have been busy this past week with the Small World tray added to the Red Tribe. Small world play is when children use miniature items such as toys, found objects, or replicas to act out scenes or ideas from real life, stories, or books. This type of play is wonderful for developing imagination, co-operation, sensory explorations and language building. Children are imagining, and while doing so are talking out loud and using vocabulary. We have particularly enjoyed using the farm animals and making them paddocks to live in.

Here at Adeona Mitchelton the children and educators have been busy using the Hand Water Pump in our playground. Hand Water Pumps are a great way for children to use water for activities and experiments throughout an outdoor space. Adeona Mitchelton's hand water pump is connected to our very own rain tank. Connecting a Hand Water Pump to a rain tank will teach children rainwater supply is not endless, so they will discover the connection between rainfall and rain tanks, which will help them understand water conservation. Would you like to tour our centre, please call the centre on 07 3354 3988.
