Melbourne City Ballet is a full time classical ballet company currently based in Coburg, Victoria. Since their inception as Australia’s only not-for-profit neoclassical ballet company, Melbourne City Ballet have created a dynamic and vibrant repertoire of new neoclassical and contemporary works whilst also continuing to produce some classical works. In 2015, the annual season “red.” will be the most diverse offering yet from Melbourne City Ballet. Featuring contemporary season “Exhale” in May as well as neoclassical works “A MidSummer Night’s Dream” and “Piano Sessions” well and classic works such as “The Magic Toyshop”.
Melbourne City Ballet stand apart from many others due to our focus on sharing our art with the community through affordable ticket prices in many of the smaller theatres where classical and neo-classical dance does not reaching currently. We further try to engage with our audiences on all levels whether by location, publication or via social media. Melbourne City Ballet strives to maintain itself as a energetic company compelled by neoclassical and contemporary works.
As a company, Melbourne City Ballet is passionate about creating more opportunities for up and coming performers. We seek to work with learning institutions to help facilitate successful pathways for many dancers to a successful career. We seek to work to create collaborative relationships with other artists, theatres, corporate entities and festivals to establish a new trends for ballet within Australia.

...and thats a wrap on our Northern Territory leg of our tour! What a wonderful time we have had travelling through this beautiful part of the country. Next up we are heading for Redcliffe.
After a big journey south traveling 700kms from Katherine we have arrived in the town of Tennant Creek for tonights opening of the Desert Harmony Festival. The evening's festivities include performances by the TC Dance Crew (who have been working closely with our artists) and our production A Midsummer Nights Dream.
Just over an hour left to go before tonight's sold out performance of A Midsummer Nights Dream in Katherine.. we are looking forward to a great show and hope you all enjoy the magic of this beautiful ballet!

Audition Registrations are now being accepted for Melbourne City Ballet's 2018 Training Program & Company positions. This year's auditions will take place in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Training Programs include our Elite Artist Full Time Program, Finishing Year & the Melbourne Institute of Classical Arts (High School Program). One last performance today in sunny Queensland at Ayr's Burdekin Theatre before the company moves on to the Northern Territory... we perform today at 2:30pm, so if you are in the area come join us!
