With storm season upon us, did you know that most dogs biggest fear is thunderstorms? Here are some tips to help calm your dog during a storm: 1. Be home with your dog 2, Bring your dog inside otherwise they will attempt to get out of their yard and not only do damage to your fences but worse of all to themselves. 3. Find the most sound proof room in your house and place the dog in this room 4. Play calming music for your dog in the room you place him in. 5. Purchase a thunder shirt, these will give your dog comfort and make them feel more secure.

With today being so hot, please ensure your pet has plenty of cool water and shade and if you have to take your dog out today in the car, please don't leave them in there, even if you're just ducking in to the shops. https://www.facebook.com/RSPCAQueensland/photos/a.68983969325.68713.23146549325/10154628791779326/?type=3&thea

I'd like to introduce myself to those who don't know me, and would like to meet me before they trust their loved one to be in my care. My name is Charisse and I love all animals and have always grown up around them. My grandparents used to own a farm where I often helped with their cows, chickens, birds and loved playing with their dog. In my household we always had cats as I grew up. I then met my husband who was a big dog fan, so of course we now own a dog. I also had to get 4 chickens once we moved to a bigger property. I have always been surrounded by animals and I couldn't imagine life without them. Through owning a dog, I have loved learning to make myself a better owner by taking my dogs to obedience clubs until they became "top dogs", agility training and have taken online training courses to further improve my training skills and to ensure my dogs always came to me when called. I also volunteer at the McIntyre Centre Riding for Disabled to help others and also to be around horses and learning to care for them. So whether you have a guinea pig, bird, cat, dog, sheep, pig, cows, horses or any other animal, I would love to look after and care for them when you have to leave home for work or pleasure and you can trust that I will care for your pet with lots of love and care. I can help with pet sleepovers (where your pet stays at my house), at home pet feeding (where I can come to your place once or twice daily to look after your pet) or pet walking.
