This year has flown by, and has certainly involved a fair amount if ups and downs. To celebrate we're having a party. It would be lovely to see all our friends for a cracking evening. Charity football match in memory of Charlie Crompton is a 2.00pm kick off on Saturday 15th July at Hollinhurst playing fields. We'll be holding a raffle in the Morning Star after the match with all proceeds going to charity (probably 50/50 between British Heart Foundation and Bury Hospice). As always, we're looking for raffle prizes, no matter how big or small. Donated prizes can be dropped off at the Star or contact either Corriena Drinkwater Woz Roberts or myself. We'll be selling the raffle tickets from Monday 10th July behind the bar in the Star. We had plenty of support from a lot of kind people last year, it would be great to do even better this year! Amongst those who provided prizes last year were: John Burns, Jenna Simmons, Suzanne Joynson, Philandleanne Hodgson, Gill Hall, Paris Warburton, Balti Spice, Brightside Brewery, and plenty more. Pre Europa League Final Barbeque tonight from 6pm. We've drafted in an expert chef, Mr Paul Cleminshaw. Obviously not just burgers when Clem is involved. Steak and chicken wraps with a few fancy marinades I'd imagine . All welcome, then hopefully watch United win the trophy. See you all later.

Cracking night of boxing, including two world title fights

Anthony Joshua vs Wladamir Klitschko for the IBF and WBA heavyweight titles live from Wembley Stadium. Some great fights on the undercard including Scott Quigg. Show starts at 6pm, with Joshua expected in the ring 10pm - 10.30pm. We'll be open until 1am, so please come down and support your local pub. John and Sue
