The changeable weather is still the topic of choice at the moment. Saturday was cold and windy. Sunday was a beautiful day. Both days fished very well with most anglers bagging up on two very different days. Saturday was sinking lines and Lures. Then on Sunday there was a huge buzzer hatch. The buzzers are about a inch long already. Scott Aitken made good use of this and caught 15 on c/r on Sunday. The water is back to being gin clear and it was great to see trout rising all over the place on Sunday. During the week and including Saturday the heather hills tight in was the hot spot. One angler at almost 90 year old from the Grangemouth club caught his 5 fish, in the first hour there. Saying it was easy, but cold. The heather hills has been the most consistent fish holding areas this week. As hopefully the weather warms up the trout will move about more. This week we are getting our first stocking of silver and blue trout. The silvers look like salmon. We have never had them before. So anglers are in for a treat. They are like torpedoes. Shape and size similar to a blue, but shinier. We are pleased to be hosting a round of the Sierra pairs competition this year on Sunday 1st of July. Please register and get booked in for this great competition with great prizes. Anglers that did well, Strathay A.C. 33 and 9 on c/r, Grangemouth A.C. 17, Paul Hammer 5 on c/r on boobies, Brian Carnegie 6 on c/r on boobies, Andrew Carnegie 8 on c/r on boobies, McNicol 7 on c/r on boobies, Scott Aitken 15 on c/r. The average trout size caught this week was 2.8lb. Scott Adams

nglers had to move about to find the fish at the weekend. The heather banks was the hot spot. The water is still very cold, and a bit cloudy after all the snow. So the trout are not on the move as much and takes have been soft. Trout do not want to waste energy chasing food in cold water. Good news is that the clocks went forward and we are now in the Summer! So that will heat things up a bit. Black Loch A.C. returned 38 on c/r on various lures. A Di-3 sweep was the best line fished very close to the bank. The catch and release season ticket is going well. To book a boat phone 07527 254811. Scott Adams

We cancelled the boats at the weekend due to the high winds and snow. So not much to write about in the catch returns. The good news for the anglers this week, is that the weekly stocking never got touched last weekend and with this weeks stocking going on top of it. Anglers are sure to have a great time this weekend at the Loch. Phone the Loch and get booked in. Season tickets for catch and release are now on sale at the Loch. Some anglers have taken up this great offer within the first week of it being posted. Details are on the web site. At the Loch we are also selling small boxes with 30 flies for £25.00. You can get Lures, wet flies or dries. This also is a great deal. Do not worry we have plenty in stock. Scott Adams

The Wheely boat fund raiser was a great event raising £1415.00 towards a boat that can take wheelchairs. Top rod on the day was Scott Aitken with 13. We would like to thank all the anglers that took part on the day. Also everyone that donated prizes towards the raffle. Airth bakers did us well, providing a great lunch as usual. Hopefully by the start of the season a boat will be at the Loch ready to take wheelchairs. It will be a second hand one. But it is a start, till we can raise funds towards a new one. We are open all year and our winter deal starts on Monday 6th November. "A two man boat on catch and release including a outboard for £30.00." That is a cheap day out. That offer will remain all winter till March next year. Gary McGinley and Ian Dobbie have been out on catch and release on different methods, Gary catching 12 on dries, Ian with snakes catching 10. Slightly different methods. Both working. We are looking at a catch and release season ticket to run for a full year starting soon. Keep checking the web for details that will follow soon. The winter project of boat and building maintenance starts now. Pop up and see Davy. He will all ways have a paintbrush ready for you. Scott Adams
