I've always loved to garden and grow my own plants, fruit and veg and would much rather be outside, rain or shine, than sat behind a desk.
I've completely re worked a couple of very wild and overgrow gardens at the homes I've owned and continue to potter and change bits and bobs in them. A garden is never finished. It always seems to evolve with life. I'm currently adding more seating spaces to our garden and adding to the childrens play area.
A few years ago we installed two wood burning stoves to our home and then started the continuing collection and processing of logs. I always have a pile to burn, a pile which are drying, a pile to split and a pile to cut...its never ending! As my Grandfather once apparently said 'wood keeps you warm twice'. You soon work up a sweat swinging an axe but then do get to enjoy toasting your toes by a roaring fire in the winter. The novelty soon wore off after cutting and splitting wood by hand for a couple of years and I decided Id have to invest in a chainsaw and from there it all began.
In and around having two more children I've completed NPTC City and Guilds training in chainsaw maintenance, crosscutting and processing wood (logging in other words). Felling trees up to 380mm diameter. And have also completed my tree climbing and aerial rescue training. This allows me to provide aerial rescue services to other arborists. I've also trained with IPAF and am a qualified MEWP (cherry Picker) operator. I have more training scheduled this year and am keen to keep adding to my qualifications and experience.I am lucky to be able to work with other fully qualified tree surgeons in the family and increase  my all round knowledge of the industry.

I'm hoping with this page to be able to keep you all updated with the work I've been doing and show you any of the crafts and bespoke items I've mad along the way.
