Tapetes de Beiriz Nos anos 40 e 50 do séc. XX, não havia em Portugal casa boa ou instituição de prestígio que não se batesse por ter tapetes de Beiriz. De uma qualidade excecional sob todos os pontos de vista, os tapetes de Beiriz eram exportados para Espanha, Bélgica, França, Grã-Bretanha, Argentina, Cuba, Brasil, EUA. Encerrada na sequência da revolução de 1974, a Fábrica de Tapetes de Beiriz, em Beiriz – concelho da Póvoa de Varzim –, foi recuperada por uma alemã em finais dos anos oitenta e hoje é a sua filha que gere a segunda, e inesperada, vida dos tapetes de Beiriz. Cátia Hannemann Ferreira está bem ciente da responsabilidade da sua missão: Hilda Brandão Miranda, a fundadora da fábrica original, foi uma mulher notável, uma artista e uma empresária de mão-cheia. Começou em 1919 com seis camponesas-tecedeiras e dois pequenos teares e em 1934 tinha já 350 operárias e cerca de 60 teares. Uma história emocionante em que as mulheres são as protagonistas há quase cem anos. RTP2, 2ª feira, 4 dezembro, pelas 23h; 3ª feira, 12 dezembro, pelas 12h30 (repetição, com língua gestual).
