As an IATA Regional Training Partner, the academy equips its students with the very latest techniques, standards and ideas to ensure they become world-class specialists in whichever area of aviation that they choose to specialize in.

Located at one of the world's busiest airports, our dedicated training facilities provide our students not only with an excellent study environment but also the opportunity to study first-hand the airport's operations and see how the classroom training may be applied in a live operational setting.

We deliver IATA ground operations training courses through IATA-approved teaching staff with added values to participants through case studies and site visits etc. An IATA Certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course and final examination.

With our expertise, we also provide professional JAS training courses covering a wide range of topics, from passenger handling to ramp, cargo, operations control and station management. We are happy to customize our training courses with customers' specific corporate and company requirements incorporated into the course. A JAS certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course and final examination.

JAA organized a comprehensive ground handling training program for 6 trainers, two each from Guangzhou Civil Aviation College (GCAC), Shanghai Civil Aviation College (SCAC) and Shanghai Aviation Service School (SASS), on 25 July to 05 August. This was the first JAA train the trainer program organized for three aviation training institutions simultaneously. The 2-week training was tailored to their specific requirements which include HKIA introduction and airport visits, ULD and special cargo handling. JAA also arranged for the participants an on-site visit to the Jardine Aviation Services operation units and sharing sessions with JAS management and front-line supervisors. The participants were highly appreciated with the program structure and benefit from the learning activities.

Six ground services supervisors from China Southern Airlines (CZ) attended a JAA tailor-made Turnaround Coordination and Ramp Supervision training program on 20-24 June 2016. Throughout the 5-day training, they learned the principles of aircraft handling, ramp coordination and supervision. Their operations knowledge and skills were also enhanced through on-site observation of best practices that they can apply to real jobs.

A class of 14 participants attended a five day SGHA-SLA and Effective Behaviors Workshop organized by JAA on 8-12 August. The workshop provided the participants with a comprehensive study of the SGHA and the foundations to compose an Annex B and a Service Level Agreement with achievable targets and meaningful operational requirements. Participants also learned how to make use of negotiation skills to improve cooperation and relationship with business partners.

The one day course delivered at JAA on 27 July has equipped the participants with all aspects of the identification, packing, marking, labeling and documentation required for ensuring the safe transport of lithium batteries.

A 5-day IATA Emergency Planning and Response for Airports and GSPs training program was successfully run on 18-22 July with the attendance of 6 participants. The course aims to enhance the alert and vigilance of the participants on crisis happening at the airfield and the know how to coordinate an emergency response plan with clear missions, responsibilities and roles for the parties involved in an emergency.

JAA has successfully delivered an IATA Instructional Techniques training on 11-15 July with the attendance of 9 aviation instructors and line trainers. The professional training aims to enhance the participants’ instructional knowledge and skills that will enable them effectively conduct and evaluate courses. The training instructor assessed the participants learning progress and provided them with feedback through interactive exercises and role play that should help them apply instructional skills and create a positive learning environment at work.

On June 15th Jardine Aviation Academy delivered a warm reception and a well-planned comprehensive airport tour for two lecturers and twenty students from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Singapore. The tour provided the visitors with a valuable opportunity to observe the airport facilities and daily operations of HKIA. It also gives a fresh insight of the real world situation for the students that helps expand their knowledge beyond classroom learning. There is no doubt that the JAA visit and airport tour had aroused the students’ interest and confidence to pursue a career in the aviation industry.

Jardine Aviation Academy delivered this year's first IATA Cargo Skills and Procedures course on 13 -17 Jun 2016. Ten (10) participants representing Logistic Companies and Airport Ground Handling Company attended the training program. The course aims to enhance the fundamental cargo processing capabilities and skills through the 5-day classroom training. Instructor has brought out case studies and cargo process simulation to provide the participants valuable experience and solid knowledge in the cargo working environment.
