Don’t you like sunshine? That’s one of the questions Máté Törő often got when he told family and friends that he was going to move from Hungary to study at CBS. People wondered why Máté was so determined to change shorts and t-shirts with raincoats and rain boots. But Máté had no doubt. Copenhagen was his next destination: “In spite of the sometimes rainy weather and moody summers, Copenhagen and CBS have so much to offer that they can easily outweigh the cons”. Bored with exams and SSDD stuff? These guys went the extra mile and took the challenge to the next level. Frederik Steensbæk Lauritsen (BSc HA PRO), John Crafoord (BSc SEM), Mark Boesen (BSc IBP) and Maggie Moesgaard Andersen (BSc IBP) are defending CBS’ honor in Hong Kong at this year’s CICC HKUST (Citi International Case Competition, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology). So far, it’s going pretty well. Meet CBS’ new deans; a Dane and a Dutchman. Dean of research: Søren Hvidkjær holds a PhD in finance from Cornell University. In 2008, he joined CBS as a professor of finance, and he has been the head of the Department of Finance since 2012. Dean of education: Gregor Halff is a Dutch citizen and has been living and working abroad for the past 30 years. At the moment, he is deputy dean at Singapore Management University (SMU). You will see them around from January and April, respectively.

Last week CBS was ranked 4th worldwide by Corporate Knights Better World MBA in 2017. Sustainable initiatives such as cooperating with Roskilde Festival on sustainable projects and online courses in social entrepreneurship have paved the way. Congratulations, CBS!
