was established in Yarraville, Victoria, Australia in 1992 as a branch temple of Fo Guang Shan.  Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple Melbourne (aka International Buddhist College of Victoria – IBCV)

Fo Guang Shan (literally meaning the Buddha’s Light Mountain) is one of the largest Buddhist monasteries on the world with over 300 branch temples and institutions spread internationally.

Its primary aim is to promote Humanistic Buddhism. Venerable Master Hsing Yun is the founder of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Order.  He has been recognised by international leaders for his bold and innovative methods in spreading Buddhist teachings.

There are Fo Guang Shan temples situated in every continent of the globe.

Fo Guang Shan Melbourne was first established in Yarraville in 1992. Currently, there are three Fo Guang Shan temples across Melbourne.

1. Fo Guang Shan Melbourne (89, Somerville Road, Yarraville)
2. Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery (141 Queen Street, Melbourne)
3. Er You Temple (42, Rutland Road, Box Hill)

Fo Guang Shan Melbourne (FGS Melbourne) provides religious, educational, community, charitable and cultural services to Victorians, Buddhist and non-Buddhist alike. FGS Melbourne regularly runs meditation classes, weekly chanting services and Buddhist Dharma functions and ritual ceremonies during the year.

Venerable Abbess Man Ko heads FGS Melbourne. She is also the Abbess of Nan Tien Temple in Wollongong, NSW.

8月13日,墨爾本佛光山道場舉行慈悲三昧水懺法會,監寺覺旻法師主法,開示水懺的深層意義,近200人參加法會。 13 August, Fo Guang Shan Melbourne held Compassionate Samadhi Water Repentance Dharma Service. Venerable Jue Min presided the ceremony, and almost 200 people attended.
