The Mordi Social Running Club is a local community group to bring people together to run and have fun. Fast slow or somewhere in between, all are welcome. The MSRC commenced in September 2014 and is a local community running group for everyone including beginners. We run 4 times a week, meeting at Mordialloc pier. We offer advice and support for new runners and tailor each session depending on the levels of participants. We are friendly, casual and all about community!

Times: Tuesday-6am, Wednesday-7pm, Friday-6am, Sunday-8am.

About me: Hi I'm Jim, I am a Level 1 athletics coach and I love running. I love the sense of achievement, the challenge and the feeling of getting fitter. What's hard is starting and getting up in the morning. But when you are running with great friends and having a great time, time flies and its easy! You can also email me on mordisocialrunning@gmail.com

Conditions were a little windy this morning however the wind was easily avoided by adjusting our running route and it ended up being another very enjoyable run. We even managed to finally get the water in the background of the selfie! A reminder for club members that the annual Christmas BBQ is on this Sunday after the 8am run. You don’t have to be a club member to run with the group but there are added benefits. If you have been thinking about running with the group or becoming a member now is a great time to come down and have a chat to see what it’s all about.

What a morning! 24 degrees, a rainbow, an amazing sunrise, a small shower before and after the run and great company made for another awesome (and dry) Friday run group. Next run is Sunday 8am at the pier. If you’ve never run with us now is a great time to come down and give it a go!

As newbie to trail running I highly recommend it. Much smaller groups than major events, really supportive and fantastic scenery. I did this series this year and loved it! https://www.facebook.com/TheTrailRunningSeries/posts/724572971071463

Start running with the MSRC club and do something different. Last night at a party someone said why do you need a club to run? I replied you don’t but I wouldn’t be doing trail run training in Cape Schanck on a Sunday morning without the club. The 5 km runs we do throughout the week are just the launching place. It’s a place to meet and find someone else who wants to do something you hadn’t thought of or thought was unachievable.
