Welcome to the Green Mountain Bicycle Club (GMBC), the oldest and largest cycling club in Vermont! Check this page for information on weekly rides and club events.

For a comprehensive description and calendar of GMBC events, visit our website.

The Green Mountain Bicycle Club, formed in the winter of 1970/71, is the largest cycling club in Vermont, consisting of over 300 members. These enthusiasts represent a wide variety of cycling interests, such as recreational riding, mountain biking, and competitive bicycling on the road and trail.  Many  of the club's members are active outdoors thorough out the year and appreciate the feeling of being outside, whether on bike or on foot.

The club has a number of events open to the public, such as weekly practice criteriums, time trials, and tours in the warmer months, and occasional lectures in the colder months.  There is a winter spin series, too, that is open to club members only.  In addition, club members receive discounts at a number of local businesses.

GMBC is host to the very popular Burlington Criterium on Labor Day, and this long-standing race has seen the likes of George Hincapie and other riders of that caliber through the years.  The Burlington Criterium started out as and remained a one-day event for many years, but in 2000 it was integrated into the wildly popular Green Mountain Stage Race.
