Due to the rain and warm weather this past weekend areas of the Dog Park are extremely icy and uneven. Village staff was out there today applying some sand to the entrance area but please use caution when utilizing the park.

Good evening Village of Weston residents. This afternoon, a band of severe storms rolled through our community causing damaging wind gusts. Meters at the Wausau airport clocked a high of 64 mph. Village department directors have been out surveying the damage this evening, and we will start implementing a clean-up plan in the morning. Additional brush collection services will be offered for folks cutting and clearing yard materials and downed tree branches from their yards. Pease remember that the Village has to take care of over 110 lane miles and right-of-ways throughout the community, so if you see something that needs some TLC, please do not hesitate to email us and let our team members know. Questions and suggestions can be directed to: Keith Donner, Weston Public Works Director at kdonner@westonwi.gov and Michael Wodalski, Weston Deputy Public Works Director at mwodalski@westonwi.gov Thank you for the opportunity to serve you, our friends and neighbors. You can email questions or comments to me at dguild@westonwi.gov Sincerely, Daniel Guild Weston Village Administrator 715-359-6114

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 9th, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from all over Samoset Council will be walking our neighborhoods and leaving a tan bag (from Trig’s food stores) at residences throughout Weston. The Scouts ask that contributions of non-perishable food and /or personal and household care items be placed in the bag and the bag then placed out for collection by the Scouts before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16th. All collections will be distributed locally. If for some reason, your home did not get a tan bag, or your pick-up is missed on Saturday, April 16th, bags can be picked up and food can be dropped off at the Weston Municipal Center during normal business hours. 2016 marks the twenty- eight consecutive year for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA)’s Scouting for Food Community Service Project. In this nation-wide effort the BSA partners with local food pantries to help our neighbors. National statistics indicate that 20% of Americans face some type of food inadequacy every week. The Scouts and their leaders thank you for continued support of Scouting and the efforts of our local food pantries.
