We have a lot of traditions for various holidays, and New Year's Eve is always a fun one with the kids. One of our annual traditions is to sit together around the kitchen table and complete these annual worksheets. Then we go around the table and share our answers. I clip them all together and store them in our memory bin. It's fun to compare everyone's answers year-to-year. Some things change -- yet some stay the same. Try it with your family!

Happy New Year! 2017 has been an AMAZING year for me and Running Diva Mom! Thank you for joining on my journey this year and for allowing me to join you on your path to health and fitness. I was able to cross paths with so many new women this year and watch you achieve your goals in 2017. From 5Ks to marathons -- from private sessions to online accountability groups -- it has been so rewarding watching so many of you grown, learn and succeed this year. You've overcome injuries, discovered new trails, been bound to the treadmill, dealt with difficult family schedules, nursed sick kids, ran and walked in sweltering heat and on icy roads. You conquered your goals by having a plan and sticking to it. I can't wait to see what 2018 brings for you! As 2017 wraps up, I have spent the past several months slowing down. I've been healing myself, learning and focusing on my own journey. I will continue to use the winter months to focus on my family, keep myself injury-free and study for my personal training certification. I am becoming a more knowledgeable running coach and will be offering additional, solid programming to my clients in 2018. I'm looking forward to helping my clients and groups become stronger runners in the process. Private sessions will be extremely limited during this time and group outdoor sessions will return to local parks and trails in March. 2017 was one awesome year - but 2018 is surely going to top it!

I've been wanting to read this book for a really long time now. But my stack of desired reading material is too high and my available time to read (before I nod off to sleep) is way too limited. So I reserved the audio book for my daily commute. This book is seriously epic. I almost think that I'm getting more out of the audio book, with Jen Sincero's commentary and saucy sense of motivation, than I would by just flipping the pages. It leaves me stepping out of the marathon mommy minivan -- ready to attack my day and make an impression on life and the world. I'm taking away a lot great tips for my entrepreneurial journey and my desire to be more present with my family, while still accomplishing my goals and attacking my fears. If you're like me and try to do it all. Or want to do it all. And then feel like a failure when you don't ... or don't do it well ... Jen has reminded me that you should ... Do what you CAN do in joy ... instead of doing it ALL in misery.

Loved seeing the lines for treadmills at the gym this morning ... and so many familiar faces. It really makes my heart happy! I got a nice efficient run in this morning and a half hour of upper body work. I even surprised myself!! Now to enjoy the holiday and family ...

Two years ago today I was bringing my third child into this world. Labor was fast, I was finishing up my third round of gestational diabetes, and I was hovering around 190 lbs. Today while she napped, my workout lasted longer than her labor. I ran ten miles and walked 100 flights of stairs at the gym during nap time. I’m smarter, stronger and more than fifty pounds lighter. No secrets. No extreme dieting. Just passion. Accountability. And consistency. I’m also a firm believer that the busiest people get more done and make the most of their day. Make your life beautiful. Make your life better. Make your life complete. The best way you know how.

I got in a great session at the gym before my family started their day. But the sun is shining and it’s hovering around 50 degrees. Appointments, errands and chores filled my morning. But the jogging stroller was calling our name. We ran together for the first time in over two months. Her straps had to be adjusted and she giggled the first 1/4 mile. All smiles ... from both of us.
