It is that time to revisit the importance of having a growth mindset, persisting through obstacles, and having a sense of grit when doing your very best! Revisit the "Otterprize" with the staff and students at Two Rivers - Dos Rios in our first Otterprize episode to review these important points that are addressed school-wide. Whatever the challenge, or fear, may be, if we have a growth mindset, persist and have grit, we can accomplish anything. HEALTHY MOVES is returning to Two Rivers - Dos Rios for six weeks beginning this coming Tuesday, April 10th, with a before school JUMP START program for our students! The program will be available for up to 80 students (K-5) in the main gym starting when our doors open for breakfast at 7:50am. There will be trainers from Healthy Moves to supervise students transitioning to the gym and in the gym itself for a myriad of physical activities. This program will occur twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays until May 17th. We are very fortunate to have this grant opportunity with Healthy Moves again to provide some before school care for our students, and we want to continue partnering with parent, family and community volunteers to provide additional indoor morning supervision support. Please attend coffee with the principal sessions and PTO to help plan and structure how we can make additional supervision and healthy, physical activities available for our students!

Attention Two Rivers - Dos Rios parents, family members and community members! Do you have a positive story about how your child's teacher, or a staff member at TRDR, supported your child or yourself this school year? Mr. Jett wants to hear about it! Teacher appreciation week is coming up soon, and Mr. Jett is collecting wonderful, heartfelt, inspiring interactions our teachers have had with our students! These short stories will be placed on individual "awards" for our staff members and presented to them when they least expect it to continue boosting our positive school climate! Please send Mr. Jett your memories of these positive interactions from this school year with our current teachers to my email at 'charlie.jett@springfield.k12.or.us.' Please title the email: 'Positive teacher memory! You can also attend Coffee with the Principal tomorrow at 10:15am and share your story in person! They also give examples of how communities and school districts are addressing the barriers that keep students from getting to school - many of which we are implementing at Two Rivers - Dos Rios this year.
