The official historical repository for the City of Springfield, Oregon. The Springfield Museum is an educational institution authorized by the City of Springfield, Oregon to acquire, preserve, and interpret materials that illustrate the history and development of the City of Springfield and surrounding rural areas of east Lane County.

The museum was organized for the purpose of serving the residents of Springfield, Oregon as the officially designated repository and interpretive center of Springfield's historical artifacts.

The Springfield Museum is incorporated by the State of Oregon as a 501(c)(3) private, non-profit organization.

Special delivery! Today the Museum received a donation of the original doors from the old Springfield Mill & Grain Building. The doors are full of interesting graffiti from mill workers and others. Some of the writing dates back 100 years.

The Springfield Museum is seeking applicants with strong interest in the history and culture of Springfield to join a Museum advisory committee. Join us for the 2nd Friday Art Walk, tomorrow February 9, from 5-8pm. Come Into This World, artwork by Benjamin Terrell is on display at the Museum. The artist will be on hand to answer questions and chat about his vibrant paintings.

The Springfield Museum was featured at the Springfield Library Foundation's 7th Annual Books & Brew event Saturday night. In September the Museum was moved under the management of the Library. We are looking forward to a successful partnership!

The Second Friday Art Walk Tour stopped at that the Museum last week to highlight the paintings on exhibit by Benjamin Terrell. Benjamin's show, Come Into this World, will be on display through mid-February. Stop by and see his exciting work. The Springfield Museum's current open hours are Th-Sat, 11:00 to 4:00pm.
