Yesterday, we held our “Cover the Cruiser” event in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics at the WaWa on Frederick Boulevard. We had so much fun and got to interact with so many wonderful citizens who were eager to help by making a donation to Special Olympics of Virginia and covering our police cruiser with torch run icons. We would like to thank everyone for their support. #LEOTorchRun19 #TorchRunVa #SpecialOlympicsTorchRun2019 #CoverTheCruiser

The Portsmouth Police Department will be hosting their 2019 Cover the Cruiser event this Wednesday, August 21, 2019, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the WaWa located at 1200 Frederick Boulevard. During this time, we will have a marked police car in the parking lot and will allow citizens to cover our cruiser with “Law Enforcement Torch Run” icons for Special Olympics. To get an icon and a chance to cover our cruiser, all you need to do is make a small donation to Virginia Special Olympics. Once a donor receives their icon, they will write their name or inspirational message on it and place it on our police vehicle. Remember, your donation will be helping to support a wonderful organization who continues to makes a difference in the lives of those with special needs. #CoverTheCruiser

P.A.L. Summer Camp memories are made each and every year. However, this year is especially surreal for one of our camp helpers and one of our officers. Maiya, a youth leader with our P.A.L. Summer Camp, is venturing off onto her next journey...college, where she will be studying psychology. This new chapter in her life is sure to bring lots of new and exciting experiences, but nothing will compare to working with Officer Ray and our campers for the last two years. Good luck at VCU Maiya! We wish you all the best. #2019PALSummerCamp

Our 2019 P.A.L. Summer Camp is coming to an end. Today is our end of the summer cookout with our campers. Tomorrow is our last day and we are so sad to see the fun to end. We have enjoyed working with and spending quality time with our campers this summer. We can’t wait until next summer. #PALSummerCamp
