"Just" When it seems as if nothing in this life is fair I am reminded that God is: "I will thank the Lord because He is just; I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High." Psalm 7:17 Even in the midst of an unjust system I can rest assured that my God is just and as such He can be trusted! Thank You Lord for being just!

"Give" The suffering of so many through recent events has me continually going before the Father asking that He might give to those in need. In my requesting of the Lord He reminded me that the way in which He often gives is through His Children. Rather than asking for Him to give, I should ask that I might give. "May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace." Philemon 1:3 Father God, Help me to give on Your behalf. May Your grace and peace be carried out through me.

"Weakness" I think it's safe to assume that weakness keeps many of us from achieving all that we could and even should. I would even go as far as saying that some of us have taken comfort in and justified our failures through our weaknesses. The problem with this for the Christian is that we are without excuse. 1 Corinthians 1:25b tells us that "God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength." Father God, Thank You for the strength that is found You! Forgive me for using my weaknesses to allow for complacency. Help me to use my weaknesses as a testimony of Your strength.

"Lend" The idea behind lending is that, in doing so that which was lended should be returned. However, in Luke 6:35 Jesus teaches His Followers to view lending differently: "lend, hoping for nothing again;" Understanding that all I possess is not truly mine, but rather on lend from the Father this teaching makes sense. Thank You Lord for all that You have lended me! Help me to practice lending with no expectation of return. Then whether there is a return or not I can be thankful that I was able to lend in the first place.

"Use" It feels good to be of use and even better to be appreciated. Jesus said, "Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you." Luke 6:2 Not everyone is going to use me in a kind manner, much less show appreciation for me. Still I am to be of use and to pray for them. Father, May I always make use of my circumstances. Help me to show Your love and mercy to those who use me wrongly.

"Past" Past regrets often plague me. I was reminded that, today I control my past. I can choose to create today the past I want tomorrow. So help me Lord to take control of my future past by: Trusting in You today and doing good, Psalms 37:3a

We will have Sunday school (9:30), morning (10:45) and evening (6:00) services tomorrow. Praise God we are able to worship together. We'll see you then.

"Be" Today I was presented with this challenge: Rather than creating a "To Do List" create a "To Be List". This caused me to give thought to what it is that I WANT to "Be"? After spending the bulk of my time these last few days with so many people that have no evidence of Christ in their lives I couldn't help but think of what it is I NEED to be: "For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:16 Father God, Forgive me for every time I have forsaken what it is that You have called me to be. Help my WANT to be in line with my NEED to be holy as You are holy.

"Right" The problem with decisions based on what seems right is that our thoughts and feelings are not always reliable. Mass chaos occurs when we are left to determine what is right for ourselves. "In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes." Judges 17:6 Father God, Thank You for establishing what is right and directing the decisions of those who will look to You. Help us to trust Your Word for what is right even when things don't seem to be the way we feel they should be.

"Think" The things we choose to think on influences our lives in both positive and negative ways, depending on the thoughts. Turning our thoughts over to the things of God has the power to transform every area of our lives for the good. "Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit." Romans 8:5 Father God, Thank You for this unlimited source of power, the power of our thoughts! Help us to lay hold of the Truth and think on things that produce life rather than death.

"Fear" "No Fear" is a popular motto often used to encourage people to go to the extreme. While resisting fear can drive us to achieve great things a certain amount of fear applied to the appropriate areas of this life is necessary and good. "What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall He teach in the way that He shall choose." Psalms 25:12. Father God, Help us to know fear when it comes to knowing You. For in fear we revere Your Word and invite Your direction in our lives.
