Description
Season of Festivals and Lights in the City of Natchitoches featuring parades, fireworks and events for residents and visitors to enjoy creating memories that last a lifetime. Our Christmas season is a six week event with fireworks and entertainment every weekend. Our season kickoff is "Turn on the Holiday's" a Louisiana Main to Main event with children's activities, entertainment, fireworks and more the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
The weekend after Thanksgiving we have the Fleur de Lis Arts & Crafts Show. Vendors have a variety of Christmas crafts, jewelry, decorations and gifts available.
These two weekends lead up to our Christmas Festival, listed as one of the 50 Greatest Festivals in the World by escapenormal.com. The Christmas Festival is a day-long celebration with live musical entertainment, arts, crafts and food vendors, parades and our fabulous fireworks show choreographed to holiday music.
For two weeks after the Christmas Festival weekend the Natchitoches Historic Foundation hosts the Christmas Tour of Homes on Wednesday nights, Friday nights and Saturday, featuring several historic homes for each tour.
The season also offers a Cane River Creole Christmas hosted by the St. Augustine Historical Society, a Children's Christmas Party hosted by the Natchitoches Parish Library, Fort St. Jean Baptiste SHS celebrates Christmas 18th century style, and Cane River Creole National Historic Park hosts special programs for Christmas Downriver.
The Natchitoches Christmas Season has something for everyone.
