Welcome to Market Alley Wines shop and lounge - come in to enjoy a glass, a flight or a bottle and grab some wine and a great recipe to take home tonight! It all started with a deep interest in cooking and the wines that go with food - that wonderful ritual that challenges the senses and creates pleasure from the moment the cork is popped and the first pat of butter is dropped in the heated pan.

From interest to hobby to vocation - it was a long path of discovery. Of flavors. Of rituals. Of those timeless experiences that nurture our soul and bring us closer together.

Market Alley Wines is born of passion - it's a vision to share the joy of a glass of good wine, the joy of discovery and the joy of a wonderful meal paired with the perfect wine.

Great wine doesn't need to be expensive. Neither does great food. It's about learning the vocabulary of what you love and bringing those flavors together so that whole far exceeds the sum of the parts.

Market Alley Wines is also about a belief in Monmouth - a wonderful rural town with a heart of gold and a downtown that brings us back to those simpler times, decades and generations ago.

Welcome to Market Alley Wines - please join us in our journey. Come in, site down and relax - and let's talk about wine, food and those tasty rituals we hold so dear. We'll save a stool for you!

Before I get to my long ramble, it's OPEN MIC night tonight starting at 5! It's always a great time! Today also marks the sixth year anniversary of Market Alley Wines ... the day I first hung the “open” sign on the door and invited folks in for a glass. Six years. If I had a dollar for everyone who said a wine shop would never fly in Monmouth, oh baby, I would have a s@#*T ton of dollars! But it did fly! So thanks to everyone who helped me get this little business off the ground and continued to support me and my vision and make this "third place" so successful! Next Thursday, Sarah and Jeff Walters will take over and I have no doubt they will do a fabulous job and enjoy not only the traditions I have started, but also enjoy bringing their own spin to the shop! I am not sure what the next six years will bring for me personally but I can guarantee it will include a whole lot of good wine! And I wish the same for you! Cheers friends!!

Well, I don't know if we can top last week's excitement level but we can certainly bring you fantastic wine and fun! Tuesday: Get Your Game ON with Craig and an eclectic group of fun-loving gamers! 5 -6:30 or whenever I kick them out. Friday: No Reason! It's the First Friday and it's always a great time with this trio! Shaky eggs galore! Saturday: Bill & Keel! These two simply are The Bees Knees! And as always, new wines, great beers and simply the best place to be in Monmouth! As you know, when I don't have an appropriate photo, I usually post a pic of Stella, but today it's a picture of me trying to tip over Mike's monster truck because it just cracks me up. It looks sort of like, "Come to MAW or I'll punch you in the face!" (Not really.) Cheers to Tuesday friends! And come to MAW!
