There are a lot of rumors going around about the current IRS delays. The returns currently being delayed are those containing the Earned Income Credit (EIC). All other returns are on schedule. There is a misunderstanding that if you have dependents, you get EIC, This is incorrect. Here are a few of the stipulations to claim the EIC: To qualify for and claim the Earned Income Credit you must: Have earned income; Your income can not exceed the following amounts. And the EIC amounts differ dependent on your income, $14,820 if you're not claiming a qualifying child ($20,330 if filing jointly); $39,131 if you're claiming 1 qualifying child ($44,651 if filing jointly); $44,454 if you're claiming 2 qualifying children ($49,974 if filing jointly); $47,747 if you're claiming 3+ qualifying children ($53,267 if filing jointly) Have been a U.S. citizen or resident alien for the entire tax year; and Have a valid Social Security number (not an ITIN) for yourself, your spouse (if filing jointly), and any qualifying children on your return; and Not have investment income exceeding $3,400; and Not be filing a Form 2555 or 2555-EZ; and File a return with the Single, Married Filing Jointly, Head of Household, or Qualifying Widower filing status, even if you're not required to file a return. HOPE THIS HELPS!! If you have any additional questions. Please feel free to contact us!

IMPORTANT NOTICE!! As most of you know, The IRS will not begin to release refunds with Earned Income Credit or the Additional Child Tax credit until on or after Feb. 15. However, the IRS is now cautioning taxpayers that these refunds likely won’t arrive until the week of FEBRUARY 27th. You can check the deposit date for your refund at https://www.irs.gov/refunds or by downloading the IRS2GO app at https://www.irs.gov/uac/irs2goapp Dates will NOT be available until after February 15th. REMEMBER, this does not mean you have to wait until the 15th, doing so will only delay your return further.
