City athletic fields in Marshfield will be fertilized & treated with broadleaf weed control on Sunday, April 23rd. Spraying of fields should take one full day to complete, weather permitting. Once areas are sprayed, they will be clearly marked with flags and application restraints. It is recommended that individuals stay off the treated areas for 24 hours. Fields at the following parks will be sprayed: SJ Miller baseball fields, Fairgrounds Park softball fields, Braem Park softball field and Griese Park soccer fields. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department at 715-384-4642.

2017 Comprehensive Plan Update

Draft Comprehensive Plan Now Available The draft Comprehensive Plan is now available to the public for review. The Plan is available electronically at the City of Marshfield website: http://ci.marshfield.wi.us/departments/development_services/comprehensive_plan_update.php. Paper copies of the draft Plan are also available in the City Clerk’s office (City Hall, 630 South Central Avenue, 5th Floor) or at the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library (105 South Maple Avenue, Information Desk). Comments on the draft Plan should be directed to Josh Miller by phone at 715-486-2075 or by email at josh.miller@ci.marshfield.wi.us.

Come join us for our last Family Fun Open Gym for the spring, held on Wednesday, April 12th from 8:30 a.m. to Noon at Oak Avenue Community Center (201 S Oak Ave). Open gym space will be available to run and play with your kids, various activities will be offered, along with bounce houses! Admission is $1.00 or one canned food item per child. Applicants are preferably in a Technology or related program or plan to be in a Technology or related program. Ideal applicant will be either a senior in high school or a freshman in college and will be available to work part-time for one or more years. Previous technology experience is desirable. 2017 Comprehensive Plan Update

The City is looking for your input! The Comprehensive Plan is nearing completion and a critical component of the plan is the future land use that will provide guidance on future development in the Community. An open house will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Common Council Chambers (basement of City Hall), 630 South Central Avenue for the public to view and comment on the draft land use maps. Maps and information about the Land Use Chapter will be available for your review. Staff will also be there to address questions and gather any feedback the public may have about the plan. The Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department is offering the following programs. • 50+ Golf Instruction on Wednesday mornings, April 5th through May 3rd from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The fee is $30.00 for ages 50 and older, and $40.00 for those under 50 years of age. Lessons include one complimentary round of golf at Marshfield Country Club. • Golf Instruction on Tuesday evenings, April 4th through May 9th from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. The fee is $35.00 for ages 12-17 and $60 for ages 18 and older.
