New #ThompsonSpotlight! #TSDVolunteer, Rick Moehling started the Live Laugh Love Believe, Inc. in memory of his wife, Vicki, who was a member of the Walt Clark Middle School staff and passed away from Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). Vicki was very passionate about the school’s greenhouse and Rick continues that passion in her memory. Over the last four years, the foundation has donated money to WCMS to support the greenhouse and their STEM focus. Each year the foundation hosts a golf tournament and proceeds from the tournament are donated back to the school. https://www.thompsonschools.org/Page/18336

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Thompson School District has canceled all classes for tomorrow, Friday, April 27th, due to the scheduled teacher rally in Denver. Teachers from throughout the state are planning to rally in order to express their desires for additional funding for the state’s educational system. Several school districts, including neighbors to the north and south, have also canceled classes for the day due to the number of anticipated instructor absences. Although TSD has a substitute teacher system that is designed to fill positions as needed, Thompson does not have enough staffing available to cover all of the absences for tomorrow. All teachers participating in their rally will need to use leave time to cover their absence, which is provided for in school district policy. Teachers and staff not participating in their rally will report to assignments as scheduled for a staff work day tomorrow. Athletic and after-school activities will proceed as planned. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience to our families. Sincerely, Dr. Stan Scheer Superintendent Thompson School District

This week Berthoud Elementary is doing a week of kindness. One project was sign holders. Kids created signs with happy messages like "shine bright like a diamond", "2 thumbs up", "you're awesome" during a sign making party after school last week. They then sign up to hold them before and after school all week for the families and buses dropping off and picking up kids! Other projects include cards for community members, kindness missions for each class each day, kindness bingo's at home, a rock art project.
