The Region's Health Care Leader Since 1918, St. Rita's Medical Center has been providing quality healthcare to the people of West Central Ohio. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, St. Rita's is now part of Mercy Health.

More people prefer St. Rita's for their medical care than any other hospital in the 10-county region. Our comprehensive high-quality medical services include The Henry & Beverly Hawk Vascular & Heart Center at St. Rita's, St. Rita's Orthopedic Care Center, trauma and emergency, cancer treatment, women's health, mother/baby, pediatrics, sports medicine and rehabilitation, addiction and behavioral services.

We strive to serve our patients and each other in ways that reflect our Core Values of Compassion, Excellence, Human Dignity, Justice, Sacredness of Life and Service. Our Mission is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus by improving the health of our communities with emphasis on people who are poor and under-served.

Each year St. Rita's provides millions of dollars in community benefits for the poor, under-served and uninsured. Some of the community benefit programs include MED-CARE Health Clinic and Dental Clinic, Neighborhood Nurse, and a variety of community-wide screenings and programs.

The real value of this contribution lies not in dollars, but in the commitment of the staff members, physicians, volunteers, board members and other community leaders who work on behalf of St. Rita's Medical Center...the people who bring the St. Rita's Mission to life.

This month, our Behavioral Health team took part in Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walks in both Lima and Delphos. It's important that we help raise awareness by supporting our local communities in these efforts. Our staff walked, but also had tables set up that provided resources to those in our community. We were honored to take part in these days meant to provide hope and healing.

Did you know that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month? We had the opportunity to meet Lauren Cunningham and her mom, Mariah, to learn more about Lauren's story and her battle with leukemia. Lauren was diagnosed with leukemia in 2014 at the age of 9. Today, she is 12 years old, is back to school, goes in for appointments every few weeks and has been doing much better. She was born here at St. Rita's, and whenever she was feeling down or running a fever during her treatments, she would come to our medical center and always felt safe in the hands of our staff. After meeting Lauren and hearing her story, she is the definition of strong and a shining light on our community. Not only did she thank the staff who cared for her here at home, but she goes out of her way to meet children in the community who have faced cancer, has been a motivational speaker and has helped support local blood drives with the American Red Cross. Lauren had more than 80 blood transfusions which she says helped save her life. A true inspiration to us and many, we are honored and blessed to help Team Lauren spread her message this month and to have helped her along her journey. Lauren said for anyone who may be battling cancer, "she is here for them."

It's always a pleasure to bring our local schools to our medical center to learn more about healthcare. Seniors who are part of Pandora-Gilboa High School's biomedical class joined us recently to learn more about our emergency department and other key areas. The students' senior project is to design an ED, and we were happy to help spark ideas and offer real-life experiences.
