My morning began early at the strike of lightning (4:15am) With a look outside I knew I was in for a long day. Steve, Danika, Beth were all flooded in without the ability to get to kennel. As soon as the sun began it's daily routine I was on my way to check on each of your babies. Travis Hendricks met me and my step father at the corner of Sharp Rd and Katy Hockley. But the water was so high and the current was so strong no truck or man could make the trek to the kennel. We were finally able to get ahold of Cory who owns an airboat by 9am. We came into our facility and met the disaster Mother Nature provided. We quickly moved all the dogs from the lower facility to the upstairs portions of our kennels. I called Kirk Wichman from Hidden Lake Retrievers and without hesitation he said he could bring his 22 hole trailer to help escort dogs. Rody Best of Best Retrievers also offered his trailers or boats. Justin Drake of Drake Sporting Dogs also offered trailers. The numerous others who shared my personal fb post, called, came out to help in any way possible is beyond breathtaking. And thank you is not enough! All the dogs are safe and sound. Please allow us to gather and organize our next steps. We will call you or post on here for further updates. How do we say thanks? I don't even know how to. All the Best, Chris & HK Crew

These 3 smiles say it all! Happy dog, happy owners, and a friendship created for a lifetime. Beau came in originally walking on thin ice. He was potentially gun shy, a little bit older than most trainers prefer, and had been turned down by a few other facilities. Not only did Beau accelerate in every aspect of his training he knocked it out of the park. This kid truly has the brains and desire to be successful in any avenue he chooses. After 6 months of training not only did Beau show he wasn't gun shy he proved to be one heck of a duck dog. Beau not only completed our basic gun dog program but he was able to finish the foundation of our advance retriever training program such as taking hand signals on land and water. We look forward to the stories from the many guided duck hunts he will retrieve for in the upcoming years. Congrats to the Honeycutt family!
