Oceans of Trash | National Wildlife Refuge System

This is very sad to see! Here at the Refuge we like to do our part by hosting beach cleanups to make our beach as litter free as possible! This article gives great advice as to what you can do everyday: "Buy fresh and local. Avoid excess packaging. Use reusable cloth bags instead of plastic bags. Dispose of waste responsibly. Reduce. Hammocks are an excellent habitat for neotropical migratory birds, land crabs, tree frogs, and other animals that need high humidity and dense cover. Although hammocks occupy a small percent of the Refuge’s land, they contain about 20% of the plant diversity.
