Congratulations to Harker Heights Firefighter/Paramedic Damon Sprouse for completing and supporting the Houston-to-Austin bike ride for MS research for his 11th straight year. This event lasted two days and covered a distance of over 150 miles and raised over 15 million dollars.

Mayor Rob Robinson read a Proclamation declaring the week of April 9-15th National Telecommunicators Week. The Harker Heights Public Safety Communications Officers and the Bell County Emergency Communications Specialist were recognized for the work they do each and every day as the first level of response in the event of your need to call 9-1-1 for emergency assistance. We thank you for all you do towards the betterment of our community.

HHFD and Harker Heights Street Dept. is out placing trail markers and maps to help improve the experience and safety of hikers and mountain bikers at the Dana Peak Park Trails. This is just one of many trails being marked (Lt. Martin Mercado seen above). Please use the information board at the trail head and "lost and found" for trail locations and descriptions.
