What's New at the Hanford Carnegie Museum? We are honored to have a Limited Edition "Protected Serenity" Lithograph by Debra Wiruth. We have 9 signed Lithographs and a limited amount of unsigned. The Lithographs are now on sale for $10.00 each. Debra Wiruth has traveled around the world. Her love for wildlife and the beauty of God's creation here on this wonderful earth has inspired her to share that beauty with all, using the talent that God has blessed her with in photography and painting. She now lives in a small remote area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, with her husband, Nick, where she is surrounded by rivers, lakes and wildlife - an inspiration for creation. "I travel each year to Alaska, which is probably my favorite place in the whole world. Here I have limitless possibilities for photographing moose, bear, caribou, whales, otters, eagles and many other species of wildlife. The landscape and terrain are constantly changing, each time producing something more majestic than the first time I saw it. I can be driving or hiking and come around a corner in the trail to see a sight that brings me to tears; the sun hitting the glitter in a glacier projecting the deepest blues that you will ever see. Or a cow moose grazing in the grass with a new born calf nestled against her, nursing. These are things that I feel I must project from my and heart to those who don't have the opportunity to experience this beauty that is here for us to enjoy." Debra entered the 14th annual "Arts for the Parks", National Park art competition that was held in September 2000, at Jackson, Wyoming. Out of 2117 entries, 100 top artists are chosen to have their work travel on a national tour. Debra's painting "Protective Serenity" was one of those selected for the honor. This painting is currently touring the United States and in September, 2001 was shown at the Sioux City Art Center, in Sioux City Iowa.
