The Public Works Department is responsible for constructing & maintaining Gardendale’s infrastructure and providing quality services to the citizens of Gardendale.  What is Public Works?  Is it the Street Department? Well, that is only part of what we are.  Every time you back out of your driveway in Gardendale, you touch the Public Works Department.  Your driveway tie-in, the pipe under your driveway, stop signs, street markers, these are all done with quiet dedication by the Public Works Department.  It has been pointed out that public works services accomplished day by day are so much a part of life and the quality of living that they are sometimes taken for granted.  Only in their absence are they suddenly missed.
