Did you know that Pilgrimage Alum Ruby Amanfu also is an amazing cook?! Check out her recipe for BBQ cauliflower below! ・・・ #Repost @rubyamanfu I just had a dream that I was staying in a hotel room directly above a football field at the 30 yard line and they were in the middle of a game. I can still see the colors of the uniforms and smell the smoky, sweet and salty breeze blowing in from the tailgater's grills in the distance.. We won't be grilling today and we're cleansing at the moment so no meat ~ but ya can't keep a girl from getting her fix somehow. This barbecued cauliflower is never not a hit. Do it up. • • • - 1 large bowl of hot water - 1/2 cup kosher salt - 1/4 cup pure cane sugar - 1 tbs ground cumin - 1 head cauliflower, cut into big florets - Safflower oil - High quality, thick BBQ sauce - Add salt, sugar and cumin to hot water and stir to dissolve salt and sugar completely. - Submerge cauliflower florets in brine, cover tightly w/ foil, press & seal or the like and let sit for 1 hour or more. - Preheat oven to 425° - Remove florets from brine and discard liquid. Lay florets in a single layer onto paper towels and move 'em until they're mostly dry - Place florets into a clean bowl and drizzle safflower oil on top. Toss to coat. - Pour BBQ sauce generously over the top until not much white of the cauliflower can be seen. - Using tongs or fingers, take florets out one by one (letting excess sauce drip into the bowl before transferring) and place on an oiled, flat baking sheet. Spread evenly and place in the oven, mid rack. - Baste heavily every 15 minutes until desired tenderness is achieved w/ slightly crispy edges (I broiled mine for the final 5 mins). - Sit down and enjoy life...and a good game. #RecipesByRuby #Cauliflower #BBQ #Vegan #Vegetables #instagood #RubyAmanfu ___ #makethepilgrimage #discoverpilgrimage

Yay!!! 🙌🏻 #Repost @pres_hall_ben ・・・ I am delighted and relieved to announce that our Preservation Hall Tuba has found its way home! We were able to retrieve the tuba through an anonymous tip. I want to thank everyone near and far for the overwhelming show of support! As you can imagine, the horn’s signature lettering had been removed and it suffered a little damage, but nothing a bit of “Tender Loving Repair” can’t remedy! It was through the outpouring of concern that the message spread and led to the tuba’s successful return. Words cannot express our appreciation for all the support and effort that went into getting the word out. This tuba has allowed us to bring a lot of joy to the community and it was our community that helped ensure its return. Much Love and Many Thanks, Ben #gotmytubaback #givememytubaback #keepyourheadup #soitis ___ #makethepilgrimage #music #festival #musicfestival #jazz #funk #soul #nola #neworleans
