The Hall Memorial Library facebook page provides up-to-the-minute information on the latest happenings at the library. The Hall Memorial Library serves a community of approximately 17,000 residents.   We house a collection of materials for adults, young adults and children that  includes books, audiobooks, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, puppets and other special items.  Free and/or discount passes to area museums and attractions are available to our library card holders.  Events for all ages are held at the library, including our babies and books program, pre-school and school-age children's story hours, a young adult writing group, young adult advisory board, adult book discussion group, Jane Austen book club, as well as special events and movies throughout the year.  We also offer an Inter-library loan program for any item a patron wants that we do not own, outreach services for those who are unable to come to the library and we offer meeting room space at no charge to non-profit organizations.

Coffeehouse is back! Singer-songwriter Samantha Goodman will be performing a mix of folk, standards and show tunes and we guarantee you’ll fall in love with her big voice! Doors will open on Friday, May 5 at 6:30 for the 7:00 show. As always the show is free and light refreshments will be available by donation. Seating is limited so reserve your spot now!

This week's movie is "Hidden Figures" - a period space-race drama inspired by the real-life tale of a group of African-American female mathematicians, Dorothy Vaughn, Mary Jackson and Katherine Johnson, who helped put astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Rated PG, 126 minutes. Showing in the Upstairs Meeting Room on Wednesday, May 3 at 6:30pm, with a second showing on Thursday, May 4 at 1:00pm. Popcorn and water are provided!

PT Barnum, Prince of Humbugs with Joe Ouellette is 'traveling' to Hall Memorial Library! PT Barnum was an American showman, businessman, entertainer, promoter of hoaxes, and founded the circus as we know it today. He was also an author, publisher, politician, philanthropist and the first show business millionaire, leaving behind a great legacy. 'Performing' on Thursday, April 27 from 7:00-9:00pm in the Upstairs Meeting Room. Free, pre-registration required.

The display featured images from 25 different libraries, highlighting the cool and unusual events and collections at today's CT Public Libraries!
