St. Joseph Catholic School is a Pre-K through 8th grade Catholic Elementary and Middle School in the Diocese of Brownsville that was established in 1954. St. Joseph Catholic School, a pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade Catholic Elementary and Middle School under the Diocese of Brownsville Catholic Schools Office, was established in 1954.

The curriculum stresses academic achievement within a Christian community where the child feels that he/she is loved and respected by his/her peers as well as the teacher. United with each other in meaningful liturgy and prayer, the students can further come to an understanding of the Christian life. At St. Joseph Catholic School, we are attempting to teach as Jesus did.

The Diocesan curriculum standards, consistent with the State of Texas guidelines, are followed for the teaching of all secular subject areas. The curriculum is marked by current content and fresh approaches to methodology. There is emphasis on principles rather than facts; on learning through problem solving rather than by precept. We strive to offer a program which makes use of many sources of reading material, a wide variety of audio-visual and technology tools and a multi-text approach to the content areas.

Good afternoon St. joseph Families, We have a few changes for this Sunday: This Sunday, January 7th, St. Joseph Church will have Mass at 6:00 p.m. AND their potluck celebration will be held at the same time in the Parish Hall (Cafeteria). Because of this change, the 3rd and 4th grade students will not be singing at Mass however, students in grades 1-8 have been invited to sing a few Christmas carols for the parish’s annual Christmas/Epiphany Potluck. Your family is invited to attend and bring a dish to share. While this is not a mandatory event, we do hope to have as many of you all there as possible for this special occasion. We know this will be a fun opportunity for the children, and their contribution will be very much appreciated. If your child is able to join us, please have them in full Mass uniform by 5:30 p.m. in the Music room where Mrs. Cruz will warm up with the students. Singing will begin after the food is served and last about 30 minutes. Please let us know if your child(ren) will attend so that we may have a count. You may reply to this email or call the office. Thank you and have a blessed evening, Jessica Rodriguez
