Great new article in D Magazine on Musica! running at the Latino Cultural Center through October 14th and curated by Scott Tucker. "I feel very humbled and privileged to be able to curate a show like this,” Tucker states, reflecting on the full-circle generational portrait spilling beyond the corners of his ancestor’s photograph, “My great-grandfather was working in a coal mine and a hundred years later his great-grandson is a college-educated person who owns an art gallery and curates shows honoring people like him.” He pauses. “In the same city.”

About Legend D'Oro: Legend D'Oro studied fine art at The University of Texas Austin under such notable professors as Peter Saul, Carolee Schneeman, and Linda Montano. Growing up gay in a conservative suburb in 1980's proved to be a interesting experience for him as as an artist. His work focus is centered on drawings, paintings and multi media installations. He currently works and lives in New York City. Artist statement My art springs from a subconscious non thinking space, similar to the ritual of speaking in tongues. A working theme of apocalypse that embraces the idea of death as necessary for renewed life seems constant, embedded in the imagery of video games, viscera, fairy tales, and commercial slogans.
