Flatlands Coffee consists of two strategic owners, who are husband and wife - Ben and Cassy Vollmar.

Ben Vollmar first started getting into coffee as a young high-school student, attracted to the coffee environment. He then was first put behind an espresso machine at The Flying Joe in Perrysburg, Ohio. Very quickly, Ben dove into the industry, excited to learn how to perfect coffee. In wanting to pour coffee the rest of his life, Flatlands Coffee was born. Ben continually reads coffee magazines to stay current in the industry, travels to the top national coffee shops, has attended coffee cuppings (coffee tastings), coffee festivals, and enjoys competition.

Cassy Vollmar is an equal business partner. She was raised in Norwalk, Ohio and met Ben at Bowling Green State University. She is a creative minded and artistic individual, who has an outstanding eye for interior design. She practices her talents in design at home, which results in endless compliments on how she decorates. In addition, she is excited about coffee and already has experience brewing and formal barista training. Cassy has also been a part of most of the research for Flatlands Coffee - touring top-rated coffee shops.
