AJPD is located at 1001 N. Idaho Rd. The lobby is open during business hours, Monday through Thursday, 8am to 5pm. The non-emergency number and 9-1-1 are answered 24 hours a day.

AJPD Explorer Post 2980- ExCon 2016

The Apache Junction Police (AJPD) Explorer Post 2980 participated in the 2016 Law Enforcement Explorer Conference (Ex-Con) held in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 11th. The AJPDExplorers took third place, out of 43 Explorer teams, in the Active Shooter Scenario. Participating Explorers were Corporal Chris Sieger, Travis Adkins, Yasinya Peterson. Chief Thomas E. Kelly stated “Once again I am sincerely impressed by these young men and women and how they have responded to the training and their dedication. I must commend not only them but their advisors Detective Seth Blount, Officers Marty Harshman and Stephanie Jewell. Job well done by you all”. ****MISSING PERSON ALERT**** On June 6th, 2016 Renae Dee Gardner, age 43, of Apache Junction was reported missing to the Apache Junction Police Department (AJPD). The circumstances surrounding Renae’s disappearance are considered suspicious and AJPD is seeking the public’s assistance in helping locate Renae. Renae is a white female, 5'6" tall, weighing 135 lbs with Black hair and brown eyes. She has 3 tattoos; upper right shoulder, across her lower abdomen, and on her right calf. Anyone having information should contact AJPD Detective Perez at (480) 474-8583 or Sgt. Newman at (480) 474-8600. Last week AJPD Chief Thomas E. Kelly participated in the Second Winds Virtual Dementia Tour hosted by the Western Arizona Council of Governments - Governor's Advisory Council on Aging. This experience provided a very small glimpse into some of the struggles people with dementia face every day, all day. This is one step the AJPD is taking to increase our awareness, and therefor improve our response and services, for those Apache Junction residents suffering from dementia and Alzheimers.
