Since 1926, Alexandria Zoological Park has shared the wonders of the natural world with generations of zoo-goers.  Get face to face with 500 animals including lions, tigers, crocodiles, monkeys, bears, otters and many more.  Come explore a natural world filled with hoots, howls, and roars right in the heart of Central Louisiana.  Alexandria Zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Amenities include concessions, train ride, and stroller rental.

Alexandria Zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Zoo is owned and operated by the City of Alexandria under the Division of Public Works.


Hours:
Open daily 9 am – 5 pm.
Closed only Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year’s Day.

Admission:
Adults (Ages 13-64) $7.50
Children (Ages 4 - 12) $5.50
Seniors (Ages 65+) $4.50
Ages 3 & Under Free
FOTAZ Members free with card & photo ID
Train Ride $2.00 (Ages 1 & Up)

Holiday Light Safari is open each night from 5:30 - 8 pm Friday, December 15 through Saturday, December 23 (weather permitting). On the evenings of Holiday Light Safari, the Zoo will close at 4 pm (last admission 3 pm) and reopen for the event at 5:30 pm.

Holiday Light Safari opens this Friday! Bundle up and stroll through the Zoo, aglow with thousands of lights, visit with Santa, take a ride on the Holiday Express Train, and more! The event is open December 8-9 and 15-23 from 5:30 - 8 pm. The Zoo will close at 4 pm each evening of Holiday Light Safari and reopen at 5:30 pm for the event. Admission is $7 per person, ages 4 and older. Membership cards and other zoo passes are not accepted during the event.
