Our LAST 9-Ball Scotch Doubles Vegas Qualifier is TODAY!!! We're heading over to Poppa G's Billiards today for one of our most popular 9-Ball tournaments. It's all about your partnering skills today and which players can shoot well enough together, and be lucky enough, to beat out all the rest. The Doubles team left standing will win 1st Place trophies, a coveted slot in the APA 9-Ball National Doubles Championship (held at the end of April in Las Vegas), and a lot of cash to help with travel expenses. 2nd and 3rd Place teams will ALSO win trophies and cash and every team that enters will have a chance to win prizes in our drawings. The doors will open at 9:30 for everyone to start getting warmed up and team sign-in starts at 10:00 am. Any team signing in after 10:30 am will be charged a $10 late fee. Our first round of the tourney kicks off at 11:00 am. If you wanted to play in this Vegas Qualifier BUT you couldn't find a partner in time, just take a chance and show up today during our sign-in time. Sometimes a team may not show and we end up with a Bye in the bracket that you can help fill or maybe someone from another team doesn't show up and you can take their place. There are definitely no promises that a spot will be open but you won't know unless you show up to the tournament in time. Make sure that you let Michael Glass know that you want to play when you get there. If we don't have a spot, you can always hang around and cheer on your favorite team. These tourneys are always a LOT of fun and super competitive so there will be some great matches. GOOD LUCK to all the teams who are competing!

Who will be our LAST pair of 9-Ball Scotch Doubles Champions and represent Birmingham APA in the next APA 9-Ball National Doubles Championship which will be held at the end of April in Las Vegas? 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place teams will win trophies and cash. Every team that enters will have a chance to win prizes in our drawings. The doors will open at 9:30 and team sign-in starts at 10:00 am. Any team signing in after 10:30 am will be charged a $10 late fee. Our first round of the tourney kicks off at 11:00 am. If you haven't paid it yet, you can pay it online or bring it with you to the tourney. If it's NOT PAID then you can NOT PLAY, so please make sure you take care of it. If you wanted to play and didn't get registered in time, you can show up tomorrow, during our sign-in time, and hope that we have a spot available. Sometimes things happen and a team, or a partner, doesn't show up for whatever reason. If you are a Standby Team waiting on an open spot, you must be present tomorrow just in case one opens up. There are NO PROMISES that there will be an open spot but you have to be THERE to get it if a spot becomes available. See Michael Glass when you arrive and let him know that you would like to play if possible. We look forward to seeing everyone at Poppa G's Billiards on Saturday!

Attention Friday Night League Teams! In case you are wondering, both Bumpers Billiards and Poppa G's Billiards have told us that they WILL be OPEN tonight for League play. Have fun but please be careful when driving in this nasty weather.

Whenever the meteorologists predict a potentially bad storm moving through our area, we usually get a few calls asking if it's okay to reschedule their League Match due to this weather. We all know that these weather forecasts aren't always accurate and the storm may affect some players, who live in certain areas, more than it affects others. Due to this, some teams may not be as concerned about the weather and they may still want to play because NOBODY likes MAKE-UP matches. If it is extremely BAD weather, then first check with the host location to see if they will be OPEN or CLOSED due to the weather. Also, please remember that the weather may not be so bad WHERE you will be playing your match but it may still cause bad conditions in some areas when driving home. The safety of our players is very important to us so BE CAREFUL! If the conditions are so bad that the majority of your team won't be able to make it to your League Match and you feel the need to reschedule, then have your Team Captain contact the opposing Team Captain. We can provide your opposing team's contact number if needed. We trust in our Team Captains to use their best judgment to ensure the safety of their teams so, if BOTH teams agree, then just reschedule your match. Please remember that if you are planning to reschedule and play your Make-up match on a DIFFERENT night of the week then usual, Team Captains must let us know WHEN and WHERE the rescheduled match is going to take place at least 48 hours ahead of time. Letting us know an agreed upon rescheduled date will help us make sure your team packets or there and help us determine which team gets the forfeit points if the other team doesn't show up. Have FUN but stay SAFE!
