Description
Opening for the season Saturday, May 27 Located at the intersection of S. Dakota Street and 10th Avenue SE. Features include a 50 meter, 8 lane lap pool with diving boards, drop slides and floatable play features, a 9,000 square foot leisure pool with zero depth entry and play features that squirt, spray and spill water, a 30 foot tall water slide tower with 3 slides, and a lazy river.

Well folks, we were trying our best to work through some of this weather, and we made calls on classes as best we could, and were hoping to get exercise in, but it looks like another round is coming and we will have to cancel our last water exercise class for the evening and close up for the day. Would be nice to see as much moisture as we are lightning from this however!!!!

We awarded two super guards this week. Sarah is great to work with and did an amazing job on her guard audit. Antonio has always had a great attitude and has been very helpful to our pool patrons! Both are first year guards and we are thrilled to have them on our team!!!!

Best of luck to the Aberdeen Swim Club at their Summer High Point home meet, which we are hosting this weekend! Due to the meet, the Aberdeen Aquatic Center Lap Pool will be closed June 16, 17 & 18. The leisure pool, waterslides, and lazy river will remain open for public use.

Due to threatening weather conditions, the Aberdeen Aquatic Center is closed for the remainder of June 13. Evening swim lessons and water exercise classes have been cancelled as well. Stay safe - thank you! :-)

Cashier spotlight: Hailey was recognized by her peers for coming in and working extra hours during the heat of last weekend. She really came through in a pinch and did it all with a smile and a great attitude!

Each week, the Aberdeen Aquatic Center staff has the opportunity to nominate a fellow staff person for "cashier of the week", or for "superguard of the week". The management team then reviews the nominations and hand out awards accordingly. This week we awarded two super guards - Antony and Alley. Antony is a first year guard who has impressed management and his teammates with his natural leadership, excitement and work ethic. Alley is a second year guard who was recognized by her peers for recognizing a distressed swimmer and responding very quickly and appropriately. We are proud to have both of them on our team!

With a projected high of only 65 combined with gusty NW winds, the Aberdeen Aquatic Center will NOT be opening on Tuesday, May 30. Looks to be much nicer the rest of the week, so keep thinking warm thoughts!!!!
