We are a science entertainment business based in Scotland. Fancy something different for your next party? Why not Be Experimental!  At Be Experimental we love science - and we love how exciting science experiments can be! We offer all types of science entertainment from kids' birthday parties and after school science clubs, to cocktail labs for big kids. We cover most of Central Scotland so get in touch to find out more.

Kids’ Parties
With Be Experimental you can be guaranteed a unique, hassle free party. We can organise almost everything including the entertainment, finding the venue, providing the invitations and creating the perfect party bags. Visit our services tab for more information on the different science party entertainment options we offer or visit our website at www.beexperimental.co.uk. Exciting add-ons and great value packages are also available.

Cocktail Labs for Big Kids
Been to too many cocktail making classes? Know all there is to know about making a French Martini and Mojito? Fancy something a bit different? Then look no further than our Experiments in a Glass cocktail labs.

We don't make the usual cocktails, we make science cocktails! We offer a range of cocktail packages and each of the delicious drinks is a mini science experiment in a glass. Learn how to create layered drinks, use dry-ice to improve the flavour of your cocktail and make a drinkable - and very tasty - DNA extraction cocktail. But don't worry, you don't need to be a boffin to enjoy them!

Our cocktail labs are perfect for hen parties, nights in with friends, house-warmings, pre-night out drinks, birthday parties, fundraisers and corporate events. Contact us to find out more.

Schools and Clubs
We offer a schools programme for both primary and secondary schools, and we have a range of activities that are suitable for children's clubs. Get in touch for more information or visit our website at www.beexperimental.co.uk.

Not found what you are looking for?
We also offer bespoke science entertainment. If you are looking for something in particular but we haven't mentioned it here, just get in touch to discuss. We will do our best to find a way to make it happen.

It's International Women's Day and there's some amazing female scientists out there. Marie Curie is one such lady who will be remembered for her work on radiation which led to radiotherapy as a cancer treatment. Let's do a shout out to all those amazing ladies in science, past or present, in the comments. I'll start: There's so many amazing women out there but one of the most inspiring scientists I know is my good friend Eleanor Gilroy. Her work on plant pathology and disease resistance fascinates me. Ever since I met her she has known what she wanted to do and who she wanted to be. Her passion and determination makes her great and I'm proud to know her ❤️

***QUICK SCIENCE*** This weekend, the kids at Be Experimental HQ grew these fabulous crystals from Epsom Salts. They are so easy to make: Make a saturated solution in a cup by dissolving the Epsom Salts in boiling water, a teaspoon at a time. The solution is saturated when the salts no longer dissolve - you'll still be able to see them at the bottom of the cup. Make any shape you like with a pipe cleaner and hang it inside the cup. Leave the pipe cleaner sitting in the solution overnight in a cool place where it can't be disturbed. In the morning take out your pipe cleaner and have a look at your crystals. You can also try this with table salt, sugar, alum powder (used for pickling). Why not Be Experimental? And remember to send us pictures of your crystals! To find out more check out our blog on making borax crystals: https://www.beexperimental.co.uk/single-post/2017/02/03/Borax-Crystals
