Let's Talk Green Canteen is a Community Garden Centre run by Hertfordshire Mind Network. The Green Canteen is a social enterprise in the heart of the Meriden Estate in Watford. Launched in August 2012 it has been set up as a community resource for local residents and the wider community. The aim of the project is to support and welcome people who are vulnerable or who are experiencing mental ill health or emotional distress.
With the help of a dedicated team of volunteers we grow a large range of vegetables and plants. Our shop has a range of unique hand made, reclaimed and recycled products, bird boxes, gifts, cards, books, gardening items and lots more. All we grow and make we sell onto the community with all proceeds reinvested back into the project. We hold events throughout the year to raise awareness and showcase what we have produced.
We are open Monday to Friday - 10am - 4pm
Our purpose is to promote positive mental, emotional and physical health for everyone involved.

facebook.comAfter reviewing the Green Minds project, Hertfordshire Mind has taken the decision to relocate Green Minds from the current location on Garsmouth Way to the Watford Wellbeing Centre, 501 St Albans Road. The last day at Garsmouth Way will be Friday 24th May and Green Minds will then recommence at Watford Wellbeing Centre w/c Monday 3rd June. (Further details about the sessions will be available shortly). Basing Green Minds at Watford Wellbeing Centre will allow us to offer structured eco-therapy sessions to clients alongside our range of other services offered within the centre. We are currently working with our clients to ensure they continue to receive appropriate support whilst we make this transition. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents, organisations and businesses of the Meriden estate for all their support over the last 7 years – we have very much enjoyed being part of the community and wish you all the very best.
Unfortunately, the Green Minds Centre will be closed tomorrow and Thursday. We will reopen again after the Easter break, Tuesday 23rd April. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Gave some strawberry plants to the North Watford Allotment Society today to sell at their trading hut @ Callowlands Allotment! We look forward to providing more plants to the society to sell on our behalf as the year goes on! Strawberry plants - £1 per pot

It's a beautiful day here at Green Minds with the sun shining and everyone out in the garden! Why not come down and visit - all daffodils and tulips are now £1!
Today we welcomed a group who are attending the Healthy Living course delivered by BBO. The theme for this week was healthy eating and everyone planted chive, coriander and salad seeds to take and grow at home. The group then kindly planted the rest of the seeds for us to grow at Green Minds. A big thanks to you all - was lovely to have you at Green Minds and hope to see you again soon!
