Because it's one of the glorious autumn days took a quick walk down to the point. And spied the ferry turning in past the Summer Isles. What a day to be alive!

Storm Ophelia is battering Ireland and moving on to Scotland and even though we'rent getting the worst of it, it's still lively outside. We recorded a 63mph gust at 4.30pm and it looks set to get windier. Here are some photos we started taking about an hour ago.

It's warm today! 15C right now; at 2.30am this morning it was 19C. It's breezy enough out there which I discovered when I went to get some video of the loveliness.

The last word. Both these boys went to work the next morning - one offshore, the other boy took the night (freight) ferry back to Stornoway to be at work in the morning. Also £3000.Incredible!

Since we posted a video of the Big Top going up, we thought we'd show it coming down early Sunday morning. The weather had started to turn really poor at that point and you can see the moored boats bouncing about in rough water! #Loopallu2017

While the bands were playing on the pier, Ullapool Book Festival held their Literally Literary fringe event in the ferry terminal with big crowds turning up to listen to Mairi Hedderwick (Katie Morag author), Malachy Tallack (60 Degrees North) and Ian Rankin. Chaired by our own Catriona Martin and Vic Galloway was brilliant fun.
