Meet Nessie the Newt who was brought into us by an RSPCA inspector after being found bloated and floating upside-down! The inspector thought that Nessie may need to be put-to-sleep, but our amazing Animal Nursing Assistant Jordan had different ideas and embarked on a course of regular massages to get Nessie back to health! We were delighted to find that Nessie was also pregnant and when Nessie had recovered fully we released mum and babies into a new pond at Receptionist Sally's home! Here are the before, after and baby pics!!!

Notoedric Mange is caused by a mite called Notoedres cati, which as the name suggests, is most at home on cats. It causes severe itching and crustiness of the ears, then spreads - across the cat, to other cats, to rabbits and even to us if we’re stroking and infected pet! Prevent it with a simple spot on - talk to us for advice.

Slugs and snails sometimes carry the larvae (or babies) of the Fox Lungworm (Crenosoma vulpis). Dogs who eat or lick these carriers may become infected, suffering difficulty breathing, coughing and sometimes a runny nose. This parasite can be prevented with a regular easy treatment, so speak to us to find out more details.

One flea can, in just a few months, lay as many as 2000 eggs… each of which will in time hatch into a new one - so it’s vital to control the eggs and larvae in the environment. Speak to us about regular flea treatments to break the life-cycle.
