As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll help our innovative facility to maintain its excellent production rate. What the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Role entails: The remit of this job is to maintain all mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment on the CHP and Evaporator plant (“Plant”) to ensure that the continuous process of generating Electricity and manufacturing Pot Ale Syrup is performed efficiently and safely to company procedures. Additional responsibilities include project management, maintaining of critical mechanical spares, fault finding and assisting day to day operations. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to; Process Upsets and Operations: Assist with start-up and shutdown of CHP and processing plant as instructed and contained in operational procedures and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW); Responding to process alarms and indicators to ensure efficient and safe operations; Communicate failures and defects of process and equipment to relevant Senior Operator or Plant manager, Respond to breakdowns Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly, monthly maintenance as per CMMS schedules, Support operations by carrying out fault finding and rectification, Support E, C & I department Annual Outage Planning: Assist in forward planning and co-ordinating the mechanical maintenance programme for the annual outage. Project managing contractors during the outage. Key Competencies: Good understanding of processes on biomass or EfW power plant, or similar continuous industrial processes. Good knowledge of relevant IT systems Good knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety requirements. Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work on own initiative and with other team members. Good decision making and problem-solving skills. Ability to work indoors/outdoors work, all seasons. Ability to perform working at heights and in confined spaces. Ability to work on electrical systems would be an advantage Qualifications and Experience: Essential requirements: Engineering qualification, experienced repair and maintenance background in similar industrial environment, IT skills, numerate, literate, continuous process operations experience from similar industry, flexible. Willing and capable of obtaining further qualifications. Clean driving licence and FLT licence. Must be willing to work during all planned outages and shutdowns Package: The role will entail working Monday to Friday plus additional out-of-hours call-out support. As the Plant Attendant, you’ll help our innovative facility to maintain its excellent production rate. What the Plant Attendant Role entails: Keeping our CHP Plant and Evaporator running smoothly is a serious undertaking. You will see that all products and vehicles delivered to and taken from the site are dealt with. This includes fuel sampling, fuel testing, vehicle offloading, syrup uplift, assisting in mechanical maintenance, general plant cleaning and any other duties as directed by the Senior Operator. Desired Skills and Experience: You must be fully conversant with using computers (MS Word & Excel). You must have good written communication skills, an attention to detail, be able to work outdoors in all weather, ability to work at height and in confined spaces, a fork lift truck license would also be desirable. Rothes CoRDe will soon be shutting down for its annual summer outage for inspection and maintenance works. The plant will go offline Sunday 30th June around midday. The plant will remain offline until the third week of July. The plant will still be manned 24/7. All projects are planned to be undertaken during the day. No night shift maintenance is expected.

As the Senior Operator, you’ll help our innovative facility to maintain its excellent production rate. What the Senior Operator Role entails: Based within the control room the remit of this job is to control and operate the CHP and Evaporator plant equipment using a SCADA system to ensure that the process of generating Electricity and manufacturing Pot Ale Syrup is performed efficiently and safely to company procedures. Responsibilities include operating ancillary equipment, repairing cleaning and maintaining process equipment and completing associated documentation. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to, managing all personnel on site including sub-contractors. Reviewing and issuing safety documentation including safe isolation of equipment and liaising with fuel suppliers. You will report directly to the Plant Manager Desired Skills and Experience: Previous experience of operating a computer operated combustion process is essential combined with a current or recent BOAS qualification or recognised Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Qualification, ideally HNC or equivalent. You must be fully conversant with using computers (MS Word & Excel). You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, an attention to detail, be able to work outdoors in all weather, ability to work at height and in confined spaces. Demolition of the Combination of Rothes Distillers landmark chimney is nearing completion. Work has progressed well despite some high winds and even higher temperatures and the final stage of demolition will be completed next week as planned.

Work began earlier this week on the removal of the old chimney at the Combination of Rothes Distillers. You may notice it's several feet shorter now. Just to advise work will cease for the weekend at approx 1300hrs today. The road will be reopened at that time and will remain open through until Monday morning at 0900hrs. Once again sorry for any inconvenience.
