Two questions: 1. When was your boiler flue last swept? 2.do you have a working carbon monoxide alarm in the room with the appliance? I had a customer today who’s CO alarm went off when his boiler was on. The gas man checked it all and recommended the flue is swept. I swept the flue and when tested was ok but due to the combustion chamber being blocked caused CO to build up in the room very quickly. My brother who is a gas safe engineer is going there to strip and clean the boiler out. Thank goodness the home owners had a working CO alarm otherwise they could have been killed.
