BAM is building the new UTC Portsmouth to accommodate 600 students aged between 14 and 19. BAM Construction is building a new University Technical College in Portsmouth, Hampshire, procured under the EFA Regional Contractors Framework.

Led by the University of Portsmouth, the Royal Navy and Portsmouth City Council, UTC Portsmouth will accommodate 600 students aged between 14 and 19 (years 10-13).

The new building will be located on the Trafalgar School campus, Hilsea, and teaching facilities will include workshops, laboratories and ICT suites.

New site access and egress crossovers will be formed onto London Road, to serve the new UTC and Trafalgar School, greatly improving road safety over Trafalgar School’s existing car park access.

The new UTC building is targeting a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’.

Construction began in June 2016 and is due for completion in late July 2017.

We would like to thank all the Year 7 pupils from Trafalgar School for participating in the Ivor Goodsite drawing competition. Matt Crookes and Brett Younger were impressed with what the pupils had produced so judging the winning drawings was very difficult but they got there in the end. We are looking forward to attending the Year 7 assembly on Friday 25th November to present the winners with their prizes.
