Ok guys some exciting times ahead. There are a few challenges planned which I will post fixtures and dates over the weekend as I need to get an idea of numbers together of those who are interested in the different events. This post is brief info on the biggest challenge of them all scheduled for August. My intention is to run from a starting point in London making my way cross Britain to a finish point outside my shop in Porthcawl. The route is yet to be planned, but it's approximately 180-210 miles. I've already had a few people get in contact wanting to be part of this challenge in different ways. So I've decided to go public with my intentions to gage response. Anyone interested in getting involved with this please pm me.

Hi all, I’ve owned the ‘Fruit Bowl’ shop opposite the gym for the last 16 years. Those of you who know me well, will know of the events that affected my family on the 2nd November 2006; for those of you who don’t, here goes: The words I remember from that night still ring in my ears, like a recurring nightmare. I received an hysterical phone call that my sister was missing, from that point that of evening most things are a blur. I remember driving fast, too fast to reach my parents who live in Ebbw Vale. When Louise and I arrived it was complete carnage, the nightmare was only about to get worse. Three of my sisters closest friends’ parents where at my house in floods of tears, having conversations that I just couldn’t comprehend. I was then told the news that there had been a car crash on the Beacons Mountains, less than a mile away from my parent’s house. My sister, Louise Jones and her 3 friends were missing and no one could get in touch with any of them. All the parents were assuming the worst, I was sure that things would turn out to be a just a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, I was very, very wrong. Things went from bad to worse, we were told the news that would affect my family and our loved ones for the rest of our lives. I only remember flashes of that evening from that point, lights, police, different faces that come in and out of focus in frequent nightmares. The only thing I know for sure is that my sister Louise Jones and three of her friends, Danielle Caswell, Katie Roberts, and Kayleigh Parry lost their lives that night. Tragically killed in a car crash, far too young at the age of only 15 & 16. That’s the short version of the story and still 10 years later, unfortunately, it has a negative effect on my loved ones on a daily basis. In my part, I’ve tried to stay strong to support those around me, I kept my own feelings hidden and my grief pushed back in a dark place that I mostly visited in my sleep. Unfortunately after a 10 year battle and the recent 10 year anniversary, that dark place totally consumed me. I hit a downward spiral I was unable to control, affecting every aspect of my life. It was time to admit defeat and seek help. So after 10 years I’ve decided to try and do something positive. Throughout 2017 myself, Terry and my wife Louise Piper-Jones will be taking part in various different challenges to raise funds for the road crash charity “ROADPEACE”. My main aims are to raise awareness of people fighting depression whatever the cause, and to get the message out there that those who do suffer with depression, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Also we aim to raise as much money as we can for the above mentioned charity. To help aid in their support of victims and families that have been affected by car crashes and to bring changes in the law to help protect and support those victims. First challenge for myself and possibly Louise is the Llanelli Half Marathon, might not seem much of a challenge but those running friends of mine know I hate anything over 3 miles. We will also be teaming up with the lovely folks from Porthcawl Health and Fitness in various events throughout the year to include their ‘signature event’ which is to be announced, but I know it’s going to be tough .I’ll keep you posted on events as they arrive and hope you won’t mind me nagging for your support, whether it be donations or you completing challenges with me. From this point every little counts, so to everyone who gets involved in any way and to anyone who donates THANK YOU TERRY JONES
